Multi-Company, Collaborative Project:
Consensus Protocol for Human Sample Collection and Analysis

Description: The development of best practice protocols for:

  • an electronic document compiling standard
  • advanced procedures for human fluid and tissue sample collection and handling
  • processing for transcriptomic, genomic, proteomic and metabolomic analyses

Companies/Project Duration: 7 large to mid-size companies/8 months
Outcome & Benefits:

  • Increase the value gained from human biological samples through better, cost effective processes
  • Improve quality of information derived from human samples by collaborative standardization of sample handling
  • Reduce costs dramatically for novel biological information
  • Expand knowledge about human physiology derived from biological samples

Deliverable:
250+ page, electronic document detailing protocols, electronic checklists and supplemental information for best practices in human sample identification, collection and handling.  Deliverable encompasses fluid collection to Affymetrix profiling, and processing and storage for genomic, proteomic, and metabolomic analysis.
