Live Webinar: Label Free Assays – The Potential Beyond GPCRs
Cambridge Healthtech Associates' complimentary web conference entitled, Label Free Assays – The Potential Beyond GPCRs, is being held on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 11:00 AM EDT (16:00 PM GMT).
Register for the complimentary webinar using the form below.
Examples of potential questions the panelists will discuss include:
- Label free screening technologies have been commercially available for ~4 years and seem to have significant advantages over conventional technologies (e.g. FLIPR); however, adoption has been slow. Why do you think this is the case?
- What features, attributes or applications would make the label free systems into ‘must have’ systems instead of the ‘nice to have’ status they enjoy today?
- Currently, label free systems are used primarily as screening tools for evaluating effects on GPCRs (or more generically termed 7-transmembrane receptors). What value would you place on having applications in the phosphokinase domain? Ion Channels?
- Label-free instruments that utilize cellular induction changes as the measured end point are exquisitely sensitive and potentially provide very specific data sets (profiles) which can help differentiate biological relevance and specific cellular pathway disturbances. How would you envisage better leveraging this wealth of information in your screening activities?
- Consider the specific example of ion channels needed for maintenance of normal cardiac rhythm. Would a screening system capable of simultaneously measuring effects on several ion channels in cardiac myocytes be of value to your organization? Why or Why not?
