Gene Williams was Chief Executive Officer of Cambridge Healthtech Associates (CHA) from 2005 to 2008. In 2006 Gene was also named Chairman of the Board of Translational Medicine India (TMI), a top tier Clinical Research Organization spun out of CHA, that assists clients in overcoming the bottlenecks in their clinical development plan. Before joining CHA, Gene held senior positions at Genzyme Corporation, most recently as Senior Vice President, General Manager where he was responsible for building the Immune Mediated Diseases business, overseeing the areas of program management, marketing and business development. During his time at Genzyme, Gene developed innovative, highly profitable approaches to many aspects of the business, including portfolio management, marketing, and customer valuation, which helped drive an impressive annual revenue growth rate. Prior to Genzyme, Mr. Williams spent sixteen years at leading consulting companies, including Bain and Company, and Corporate Decisions, Inc. where he was partner and co-director of the healthcare practice. He helped found the Axon Group and served as its president from 1995-1998. Gene presently serves on the Board of Directors of Adheris, a leading patient adherence services company. He is a past Director of Vernalis (previously British Biotech), the publicly traded UK based biotech company, and Digitrace (now Sleepmed) the leading provider of ambulatory EEG services. Gene received his AB in Economics from Harvard College and received his MBA from Harvard Business School. |
